I joined the Rising Leaders Council at New Destiny Housing because I believe housing is a human right. Survivors of domestic violence shouldn’t have to choose between abuse and homelessness, but in NYC, that’s often the reality. New Destiny is the only organization in the city solely focused on PERMANENT housing for survivors and their children. Last year, they served over 2,000 people. This winter, I’m walking to support their work and to remind us all that we have POWER. Through activism, advocacy, volunteering, and donating, we can reduce the daily struggle of living in this city and help others find safety, stability, and a fresh start.
